Four associates at The Highlands have been recognized by Life Care Centers of America, the facility’s management company, for their outstanding service.
Cynthia Bedard, Adriana Miguez and Josephine Blankson all received Certified Nursing Assistant Awards for the skilled and compassionate care they provide to residents at The Highlands. Javier Baez, an activities assistant, was presented with the Team Spirit Award in honor of his commitment to serving both residents and fellow associates.
“Cynthia is our Swiss Army Knife,” said Carlos Bonilla, executive director. “She is ready every day and is capable in assisting our residents and associates with anything.” Wayne Nasiatka, director of nursing, added, “Cynthia is always smiling and gets through her day with ease.”
“Adriana is always there to assist other residents and associates,” said Bonilla. Nancy Spencer, staffing coordinator, added, “Adriana goes above and beyond every day to provide the best quality of care possible for her residents.”
“Josephine takes the extra time needed with residents and family to provide the best care possible,” said Bonilla. It was added that, at times, she can be found braiding her residents’ hair before her shift begins.
“Javier has worn many hats at The Highlands,” said Bonilla. “Some as a cook, as a dietary aide and now as an activities assistant. Javier brings a special gift every day with an amazing singing voice and a positive and uplifting personality.”
