On Jan. 5, 2019, the Fitchburg, Massachusetts, police department’s engagement unit hosted a pancake breakfast at The Highlands in Fitchburg.
More than 100 community members stopped by for Officer Fred Lake’s delicious homemade pancakes, along with maple syrup. Members of the police department, along with Lajja Lantigua, activity director, served guests their choice of blueberry or chocolate chip pancakes. The Highlands provided bacon, sausage, juice and coffee to go with the sweet meal.
The police department has been supportive of a resident at The Highlands by visiting regularly.
“The pancake breakfast was a success because of the commitment The Highlands and the police department have to the community we serve,” said Lantigua.
“Folks young and old enjoyed the breakfast,” said MaryAnn Melanson, admissions and marketing director. “Thank you to Mary Friedrich, head cook, and our dietary department, for their participation.”
